Sandestin Beach Club Wedding | Reagan & Robin

There’s a little gem on the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort called the Sandestin Beach Club, and A Sandestin Beach Club Wedding is one of the best ways to tie the knot on the Emerald Coast. It’s a members only club, however, in the Fall/Winter, it can be used for weddings and private events. This is now one of our favorite spots. It has an intimate feel despite the massive property size. For Reagan and Robin’s wedding this past weekend, they had a guest count of about 100 people. The ceremony took place on the beach and the cocktail hour and reception was held on the pool deck. Like clockwork, the weather turned from Summer to Fall the day prior to their wedding so the humidity was dialed back considerably from September’s heatwave.

The Details on Reagan and Robin’s Sandestin Beach Club Wedding

Venue: The Beach Club, Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort (of course)

Ceremony Music & Reception DJ/MC: Josh B, B-Boy Productions
Make-Up: Robin Klag Make-Up Artist

Cake: Holy Cakes

For this venue, it’s ideal to have two entertainers. Brian (himself a DJ) assisted Josh, allowing him to get out in the crowd for announcements and make the toasts flow a little easier instead of having to run back to the booth to add music. Once the dancing kicked off, the crowd was ready to party! Josh had them dancing to just about everything he played.

Hot New First Dance Wedding Reception Song for Fall 2016

Every year you’re almost guaranteed to have one new track that makes it as that year’s “Hot New First Dance Wedding Reception Song “. As Wedding DJs, we can spot them pretty quickly. I mean, that’s part of the job right?

Usually, it’s almost always after a Grammy performance, which takes place in February, just before the Spring wedding season begins. I can’t prove that theory scientifically but it sure feels like it’s been that way the past few years. In 2014, it was “All Of Me” by John Legend. Last year, it was, without a doubt, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”. Up until a few months ago, the top contender for 2016 had been “Die A Happy Man” by Thomas Rhett. This country tune had a lot of the same elements as Ed Sheeran’s track but turned out to have enough crossover appeal that it has been used by a ton of diverse brides and grooms and not relegated to just country music lovers. If you haven’t heard it, check it out below.

But then a song came along that has been slowly gaining momentum over the last month or so. I never saw it coming to be honest. It’s categorized as a “folk” genre track but definitely appeals to the masses. This artist has had a ton of tracks placed in television shows and films like The Loft, Revenge, The Originals, Sleepy Hollow, Reckless, and DaVinci’s Demons (just to name a few). This is her first single to have such mainstream success. Have we kept the suspense going long enough? Well, you’ll have to wait a while longer and get the title/artist through the video below. Let us know if you think this has what it takes to dethrone Thomas Rhett as 2016’s wedding song of the year. Enjoy!

Kelly Green Wedding in Alys Beach | Alexa & Anthony

Kelly Green Wedding: Alys Beach, FL

One of Alys Beach’s more popular spots, Kelly Green is a perfect venue for guest counts of over 100 people. It complements the town of Alys Beach so well. Its well-manicured lawns and semi-hidden location make for a luxurious and private wedding space. This wedding was that and more.

The groom, Anthony (wearing a blue tux and diamond studded shoes), and the bride, Alexa, were stylish themselves and into the details of every aspect of the wedding. From monogrammed everything to the food to the music list to a theatrical and choreographed grand entrance/first dance, their imprint on the event to was very evident for all to see and made it truly “them”. Music-wise, this crowd was into just about everything. The party, really took off, however, when we delved deep into the hip hop genre.

The most memorable part of the reception took place at the Grand Exit. The groom surprised his beautiful bride with her wedding gift – a murdered out Phantom Rolls Royce. I don’t think the bar can be set much higher gentlemen. Her reaction was priceless. She was so shocked, happy and blown away all at once! It was the perfect ending to an amazing night.

Bud & Alley’s Wedding in Seaside Florida: Perfect For An Intimate Celebration

This weekend I had the pleasure of being a part of Anthony and Stephanie’s Bud & Alley’s wedding in Seaside, FL. It’s a surprisingly intimate venue, considering it is in the middle of shops on the south side of 30A, which fit the number of guests they had (40).

Bud & Alley's Wedding in Seaside Florida

Venue, Coordination and Catering: Bud & Alley’s

The staff was excellent and very easy to work with. Both Rachel and Kathryn (event coordinators at the restaurant) made sure everything was on point, which can relieve so much stress for not just the wedding couple but the vendors as well. Of course with us being in Florida, there was a threat of rain (what else is new?). However, the permanent tent structure covering the entire outside of the venue ensured that the wedding festivities would go off without a hitch. In my opinion, this is a huge selling point for the venue!

One of the memorable moments was when Stephanie’s brother, Dave, walked in during dinner with a glistening bottle of Moët. I knew then that the night was just getting started. Music ranged from Sinatra to Yelawolf to Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes. Upon the final note of “Home” and my farewell, the guests, along with the Bride and Groom in tow, ventured upstairs to the bar at Bud & Alley’s to continue their festivities. Yet, another selling point of this venue ~ easy walk (just upstairs) for the after-party. Just about any other outside venue requires you shut down at 10PM due to the noise ordinance. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your day Anthony and Stephanie.

Fonville Press: Sure to Impress for an Alys Beach Wedding

If you are looking for an elegant spot on 30A to have your reception, consider this little gem, Fonville Press! Located in Alys Beach, this venue has a lot to offer including super easy access and a unique layout that makes tailoring to taste, a fun task. This particular venue is ideal for an Alys Beach wedding with under 100 guests. We got a chance to debut our new plush, vinyl all-white DJ Facade. This couldn’t have been more perfect to complement the all-white décor that is infamous in Alys Beach.

The heat was out in spades and its ugly second cousin, humidity was presenting itself to be a formidable foe for the hairdos of the day. The sky was the clearest of blue and cloudless, making for a rain-less wedding, which was imperative considering the ceremony /reception area was outdoors with no tent. After a perfect ceremony, we seamlessly moved into an upbeat cocktail that set the tone for the rest of the evening. Great music paired with our romantic café style lights courtesy of B-Boy Rentals and Event Design was the perfect kick off to an intimate reception.

A Destin Emerald Grande Wedding with Erica and Richard

Destin’s Emerald Grande…a great venue for a wedding.

I had been looking forward to Erica and Rich’s Destin Emerald Grande wedding for a long time, and needless to say I was NOT disappointed! From the moment their guests entered the reception ballroom, they were singing and dancing to the music. And speaking of the ballroom, it was decorated gorgeously, according to Rich and Erica’s vision. Partnering with our rental company for up lighting, we were awash in a very gorgeous shade of purple.

Erica’s family requested Chaldean music, a kind of ethnic folk music with Arabic decent, which was a first for me. I had a blast mixing it in with more contemporary dance music. To top it off, Rich & Erica got one of our party packs which consisted of glow wands, beads, and glow glasses for their guests to play with on the dance floor! I was exhausted in the best way possible after all was said and done.

Courtney and Chris |Sandestin Bayview Room

Sandestin Bayview Room: What an Awesome Venue!

I refer to it as one of our second homes – the Sandestin Bayview Room and Terrace is one of the most modular wedding venues on the Emerald Coast and we seem to have an event here just about every weekend. The flexibility that the space offers came in handy this weekend. If you haven’t checked out our venue tours at this property, it may be worth a look. We have Part 1 and Part 2. Hurricane Hermine was looming but never seriously threatened our event. The humidity, however, was intense and with rain slated for later in the evening, Courtney made the final call to move the reception indoors. We still had the ceremony outside and the cocktails were an indoor/outdoor combo. In the Bayview room, we had the entire room set for dancing. The dinner was held in the lobby entry way which worked perfectly for the guest count on hand..

Destination Weddings in Sandestin Florida. What more could a Wedding DJ want?

This crowd may qualify as one of my best of the year. They were ready to dance and had the entire room (minus the cupcakes) allotted for just that. With zero formalities after dinner (no cake cut, bouquet or garter), we got into the dancing very quickly. Being from Kentucky and a large contingent from St. Louis, Courtney and Chris brought two great destination crowds together. Folks from those parts of the country love to have a good time and are really nice people to boot. 90s and 2000s pop, hip hop and R&B went over really well and, of course, with so many being from St. Louis, there were more than a few Nelly tracks played. I even get a chance to show them The Wobble.

The floor was so packed that we went an extra 30 minutes of overtime. Best wishes to Courtney and Chris! Thanks for including us.

Sandestin Wedding

Sandestin Wedding on the Elation Lawn

It had been a while since I personally had done a wedding on these particular properties. The ceremony took place on the Elation Lawn. It is so private and the lawn is very well manicured. When you have a stunning couple with a gorgeous background, it makes for a perfect wedding combination. The bride, Jennifer, wanted a rustic look so our team brought it some fantastic decor pieces, including the barn doors, floral pots, etc.

Bridal Party Processional: “A Thousand Years” by The Piano Guys
Bride Processional: “Cant Help Falling In Love” by The Piano Guys
Recessional: “Pompei” (DJ Brian B Edit) – Bastille

The reception space (Azaela Ballroom) is upstairs and the best part, the A/C was working flawlessly! The humidity outside was on another level! This particular ballroom is perfect for the 150 or so attendance range which is what we had on hand. We not only had the decor/uplighting around the room but we brought in one of our signature DJ tables, as well as our intelligent lighting on truss sticks with a lighting designer/operator. This type of lighting allows us to spotlight the grand entrance, dances, and toasts as well as color washes during dinner and accentuate the dance floor during the dance sets.

We lined all the guests up to make a “human catwalk” for our bridal party entrance and that set the party tone right away.

Hilton Pensacola Beach Wedding | Venue Tour

We recently had a Hilton Pensacola Beach wedding where we provided ceremony music and DJ services for the reception.

HIlton Pensacola Beach Wedding

This venue has gone though a pretty extensive renovation since we were here a few years ago. They also brought in a new wedding staff which has provided an elevated experience for clients, guests and vendors alike. On this particular day, there was heavy wind and rain was threatening. Rather than risk a washout, the venue had a rain back-up plan that allowed the ceremony to take place inside which kept guests dry and the ceremony decor intact.

Since we have so many destination wedding clients looking for venue spaces in our area, we thought this venue tour may help give you an idea of what the venue can look like on your day. Although pictures are helpful, having someone walk you through the space when it is set-up for a wedding can really make the venue come to life. This wedding had 80 guests. The beauty of this space is that it is very modular. You could have as many as 150 in this room or as little as 50 guests and it would still work either way.

When it comes to entertainment for a Hilton Pensacola Beach wedding, we would recommend our 2 person DJ/MC package. This allows the MC to get out from behind the DJ table and be seen by everyone since there is a slight angle to the room. Decor and uplighting in this room should be considered. The neutral wall colors allow you to “colorize” them to your liking. Lastly, a photo booth would not only have plenty of space in this room but it would give your entertainment yet another layer for your guests to experience. All of these things are available through us and our sister companies. Check out the tour below of the Hilton Pensacola below.

For more information on the venue, contact us or peruse the venue’s website here.
