Bayview Room and Terrace

Sandestin Wedding Venues | Bayview Room and Terrace Venue Tour

We’ve been working at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort since we opened up our doors in the panhandle back in 2006. In fact, the very first Sandestin wedding venue we performed in on property was at the Bayview Room and Terrace. It has held a special space in our heart ever since. Over the last month few months, they did a major renovation to the space. We are giving you a little sneak peak venue tour with those updates. I think you’ll be excited to see this refresh.

Of all the Sandestin Wedding Venues, this a fantastic option if you want a non-beachy location. That view of the Choctawhatchee Bay is unlike any other. It makes a perfect ceremony backdrop or cocktail hour location.

Sandestin Wedding Venues

The ceremony locations are really endless. They do have beach options, lawn options and many more on Sandestin’s property if the Bay view isn’t your ideal look. As for the room itself, you can comfortably fit about 75-85 people. Have a larger attendance count? No problem! The lobby area gives you the ability to put up a temporary draped wall to use as your dining location, thereby saving the main room for dancing, formalities and a photo booth. Another bonus of being indoors for the reception is that you can go beyond the 10PM noise ordinance that most outdoors properties have to abide by within the area. In the summer, when it takes longer for the sun to go down, this is a huge advantage.

Bayview Room and Terrace

We do recommend you and your guests stay on property at one of the condos or hotels. Getting in and out of Sandestin during season can take time with traffic (this goes for any venue on the Emerald Coast). By staying inside the Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort, you can easily get around the resort or you can take the free tram to multiple drop-off points.

Another bonus of this property is the close proximity to Baytowne Wharf. This gives you many rehearsal dinner and after-party options.
Be sure to reach out to them today for more information as this venue books out quickly.

Destin Wedding Private Showcase Proves To Be A Success

Towards the end of last year, we began working on a new line of thinking for the Florida panhandle and Destin wedding market as it applies to our marketing approach. The standard way to market your company outside of traditional advertising mediums was via bridal shows. We used to do them and saw some success but over the last few years, the attendance had dwindled and even more than that, the bookings nose-dived. It became more of a social event that lent itself to competing via price. Because we are more concerned with value than price, it was a battle we decided not to engage in and have pulled out of them all-together.

So outside of doing a sneak-peak at a wedding we are performing at, how can a client see us LIVE? After all, that’s where you can see if a company can deliver the goods rather than some photo shopped image or well-edited video. In the Northeast, private showcases have caught traction and are starting to become THE thing to provide that outlet. We were an ideal candidate for this as we’re an all-inclusive event company. We offer DJs, Emcees, Live Musicians, Officiants, Photo Booths, PA Rentals, Ceremony Rentals, Dance Floor Rentals, Production Lighting, Day of Coordination, and most recently photography and videography. The only things we don’t do are florals, catering and reception rentals. So even if they had their entertainment handled, they could get the other services they needed and vice versa in a one-stop shop approach.

Destin Bridal Show

We spent November and December rehearsing and refining the presentation part of our showcase. We came up with a way to highlight all of our services but also give potential clients a 20 minute reception feel with each of our 10 local headlining MCs getting an opportunity to get on the microphone and entertain.

In getting the word out, we brought in 20 potential clients on a Saturday morning. With a strong venue partner in the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, who not only allowed us to use their space, but handled the phenomenal food and mimosas, the stage was set for something new and fresh to be unveiled at no cost to these wedding clients. The “proof is in the pudding” as they say. 14 clients were able to book at least one service they needed and were home by the early afternoon.

It went so well that we have decided to do it again this summer. Our videography team captured some of the highlights in this promo reel below to give you an idea of what took place. If you’re interested in attending our next private showcase, contact us and we’ll get you all the info once the details are solidified. We hope to see you there!

A Perfect day for getting married in Sandestin FL | Art & Brittany’s Wedding

It was a perfect day for getting married in Sandestin, FL

It was a perfect day for getting married in Sandestin, FL! As guests started arriving at the Bayview Room and Terrace for cocktail hour, you could see them tapping their feet as they listened to the smooth jams of one our live musicians, Wes Heath, on the guitar and vocals. Everyone was smiling and talking about the beautiful ceremony they had just witnessed.

Once everyone made their way inside for the reception, I knew we had an amazing crowd! They were full of energy which is a key ingredient for an epic party! After introducing myself as the Emcee and my partner in crime for the evening, Dan Davis, as the DJ, we kicked into “Love Never Felt So Good” by Michael Jackson for the bridal party introduction. Each VIP bridal party member danced their way inside the reception hall. After the last of the bridal party made their way in, we shut the doors and I got the crowd ready for our bride and groom. The anticipation was at the apex when those doors finally swung open. The crowd exploded with a deafening roar of cheers for the new Mr. and Mrs. Becker!

The night went flawlessly! People were laughing, dancing and having an all-around good time! Earlier at the ceremony, the grandmother sustained a minor injury and had to go to the hospital. Both her and her husband weren’t able to make the reception early on. After getting word from our coordinator that they would be able to make an appearance later on, I had her cue me when they arrived. I called everyone out to the dance floor with Art and Brittany standing at the front so when the front doors swung open and I announced them in, they went crazy yet again! It gave the party a second wind. Brittany, our bride, got to dance with her Grandfather to “Fly Me to The Moon” by Frank Sinatra. As the music played, you could see a huge smile on the grandmother’s face as she witnessed her first granddaughter dancing with her husband.

As for the dancing, it didn’t take hardly any time to get everyone up and partying. With New Yorkers in the house, we hit them with “Juicy” by Notorious B.I.G. and, of course, they knew all the words. For all the Chicagoans (where the bride and groom live), we dropped “Homecoming” by Kanye West and everyone went nuts. We finished the night with “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey and ended on a high note.

We worked with some talented vendors as well to pull off this incredible wedding. Kelli Deary coordinated the event for Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Patty Bilbo from It’s A Perfect Day provided all the florals and decor. Heidi from Bake My Day made the cake. Last but certainly not least, Sarah Lyn Photography was on hand to capture the day in photos.

This was definitely one of those weddings where I realized I have the greatest job in the world.  I love to DJ weddings and play a part in a couple’s special day! Thanks for having us Art and Brittany! We wish you both the best!

One thing I always ty to do as a wedding DJ is form a tight bond with my clients. By doing so, your chances of a successful event go way up. You’ll be in tune with what their tastes are musically as well as know exactly how they envision the night turning out. If you are able to catch that vision, it can be a magical and surreal experience the night of the event!

I find it pretty easy for me to make a connection with almost any client but there are those rare few where it goes beyond that…you feel like you’ve known them your whole life or better yet, they are one of those couples you’d have no problem hanging out with after the event is long over. That couldn’t be more the case with my most recent wedding client, Amber and Mito. Not only were they a stunning looking couple, but they were so easy going and laid back, that the planning process felt effortless.

The event took place at the Bayview Room and Terrace which is located inside the Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort.  It had been a while since I personally worked this room so I had forgotten how much I love it.  The location is perfect for intimate weddings.  The ceremony spot is on the back terrace overlooking the Choctawhatchee Bay and is also great for cocktail hour.  The inside ballroom is very private and can really be customized via décor lighting to look quite stunning.

I got a chance to work with Lesley Isacks of Lesley Isacks Photography. Our last wedding together was one of my favorites of last year so I had a good feeling we could rekindle the same “event magic”. Amber and Mito were from South Florida so a few of their wedding vendor friends came up to provide wedding services to give it a more personalized touch. The cake maker was Betty from Cakes By Night out of Fort Myers, FL.  Handling the florals were Larry and Kathy Freeman out of Waleska, Georgia.

With DJ Dan Davis and myself working this event as a wedding DJ duo, we kicked off the reception with “Turn Down For What” by Lil Jon and DJ Snake as the Grand Entrance song. For the First Dance, they chose what is quickly becoming this season’s wedding song, “All of Me” by John Legend. We went into the meal and then our toasts took place. One  of Mito’s daughters, Breanna, gave one of the most heartfelt toasts I’ve ever heard. She honored her dad and Amber so well. Our Father/Daughter dance soundtrack was “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle. Mito, being Puerto Rican, selected “Armor de Madre” by Victor Manuella for him and his mother to dance too.

By the time we got to the open dancing, this crowd was primed and ready! It was on from the first track. Musically, we were all over the place.. We had some retro classics, current top 40 and a good amount of Latin tracks. Mito broke it down with some of the salsa music. I wish I had 1/10 of his rhythmic/dancing ability. Never once did the energy die. We just kept building and building the energy all evening long. There was even a “dance off’!

UPDATE 4/30/14:
This review just came in from Amber and Mito and we are blown away!!
“DJ BRIAN BUONASSISSI WITH B-BOY PRODUCTIONS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING TO WORK WITH, EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL, SUPER HELPFUL, AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON WITH THE GREAT EXPERIENCE MY HUSBAND AND I HAD FOR OUR WEDDING!!! The reception and the FUN part of the wedding was VERY IMPORTANT to us because everyone knows the DJ can either make or break the party, and BRIAN EXCEEDED ALL OF OUR EXPECTATIONS!!! We had an intimate wedding of roughly 60 people in the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, at the Bayview Room and Terrace, and Brian had the dance floor packed from START to FINISH!!! There was NEVER an empty seat in the room…he even had Grandma dancing to Gangnam Style!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DJ BRIAN B TO ANYONE LOOKING TO HAVE NO WORRIES ON THEIR BIG, SPECIAL DAY!! My husband is Puerto Rican, so I was nervous to see who would dance to the Latin music on my side of the family…including myself…LOL…because that requires a certain kind of skill…BUT HE IS A GENIUS BECAUSE THE MUSIC JUST FLOWED BEAUTIFULLY AND IT SERIOUSLY DID NOT MATTER IF YOU WERE YOUNG, OLD, CAN DANCE AMAZING, TERRIBLE DANCER…LOL..THE POINT IS THAT EVERY SINGLE GUEST LEFT WITH A GREAT, AWESOME EXPERIENCE BECAUSE OF BRIAN!! It was scary selecting vendors I have never met and planning a destination wedding is hard, but his reviews, which are why I called him first, were outstanding!!! You cannot teach personality, and understanding or reading a crowd…you can’t train for those things, it really is a gift, and he has that!!! If you are skimming financially on certain things when you are planning for your wedding, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT GO CHEAP ON CHOOSING DJ BRIAN BUONASSISSI!!! You may find cheaper but you seriously will MISS OUT on the quality and this is a ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE!!!! We hope to use DJ BRIAN B for other major events in our future!!!!!”
