Bud & Alley's

Wedding at Bud and Alley’s, Seaside with DJ Dan Davis

Brenna and Alexis’ (his name is French, pronounced Alex-see) wedding at Bud and Alley’s, Seaside, FL was an absolute blast and couldn’t have happened on a more perfect Spring day! With both families coming from Alabama and France, there was an awesome mix of cultural heritage and style.

One of the most memorable moments was when one of Brenna’s friends, Mary-Claire, gave a special acapella vocal performance.  She is a trained opera singer which was a wonderful touch to the already elegant evening. After the sun went down, the party turned up, and the crowd danced until the witching hour!

Depending on how my creative planning appointment goes with my clients, I may suggest a somewhat unique ending to the night instead of just playing a last dance song. Brenna and Alexis loved it when I pitched them the idea. Here’s how it went down: I put the bride and groom at the center of the dance floor and had the wedding party, family and friends form a circle around them. I always look to include guests that have not been on the floor all night, assuring them I’m not going to make them do anything embarrassing or cheesy. I told everyone to look to their left, then look to their right, and explained that today there are two families becoming one (which is why we were in one circle with the bride and groom in the center). I asked everybody to link hands, arms, shoulders, whatever. I then asked them two questions: If you could say anything to the bride and groom right now, would you tell them that you love them? (Yes!) Would you tell them you are excited for them to take the first steps of the rest of their lives together? (Yes!) By that time, I had already maneuvered myself back behind the decks and said, “Well, if those answers are true, I am willing to bet that there is one other thing you’d like to tell them,” and I immediately hit play on “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey. The crowd always goes nuts when that happens (and this crowd was no exception). I asked them to sing along. When the end of the song came up, right before “Don’t stop believing / hold on to that feeling,” I prompted everyone that I wanted a big finale, that I wanted everyone to hear them back home where they came from singing, then prompted a cheer for the bride and groom at the end.  For this crowd, it was a perfect way to end the night.

Bud & Alley’s Wedding in Seaside Florida: Perfect For An Intimate Celebration

This weekend I had the pleasure of being a part of Anthony and Stephanie’s Bud & Alley’s wedding in Seaside, FL. It’s a surprisingly intimate venue, considering it is in the middle of shops on the south side of 30A, which fit the number of guests they had (40).

The staff was excellent and very easy to work with. Both Rachel and Kathryn (event coordinators at the restaurant) made sure everything was on point, which can relieve so much stress for not just the wedding couple but the vendors as well. Of course with us being in Florida, there was a threat of rain (what else is new?). However, the permanent tent structure covering the entire outside of the venue ensured that the wedding festivities would go off without a hitch. In my opinion, this is a huge selling point for the venue!

One of the memorable moments was when Stephanie’s brother, Dave, walked in during dinner with a glistening bottle of Moët. I knew then that the night was just getting started. Music ranged from Sinatra to Yelawolf to Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes. Upon the final note of “Home” and my farewell, the guests, along with the Bride and Groom in tow, ventured upstairs to the bar at Bud & Alley’s to continue their festivities. Yet, another selling point of this venue ~ easy walk (just upstairs) for the after-party. Just about any other outside venue requires you shut down at 10PM due to the noise ordinance. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your day Anthony and Stephanie.

Bud and Alley’s Weddings in Seaside, FL

If you’ve ever driven along 30A going from Santa Rosa Beach into Seaside, then you’ve had to come across Bud and Alley’s in Seaside, FL. We’re so excited to see more and more of our clients having their wedding receptions there.  This venue has always been an after-hours place for many of our wedding clients once everything else closes down at 10PM due to the upstairs bar that stays open till 2AM.

However, they just completed a renovation of the main restaurant and over the last year or so, a ton of wedding receptions are now being held on property. I recently got a chance to see the venue a few weeks ago and sit down with their event coordinators, Rachel and Kathryn.

This outdoor space has been redone to include a tented area for the DJ to set up under.  Additionally, they have professional grade speakers permanently mounted to the top of the tent that allows us as the DJ to tap into.  This eliminates the clutter of seeing our speakers stands, etc. On that lower level is where dancing takes place.

There’s a raised deck that is adjacent to the restaurant.  This is where the dinner tables are placed.  This picture below doesn’t show it but the deck wraps around to the left and more tables can be placed there. They have standalone heaters for the cold months available and cafe style lighting strands are strung over the dance floor year round to give it that throwback rustic look.

Bud & Alley's Reception

If you haven’t yet seen Bud & Alley’s and are looking for a private venue that serves amazing food, make sure you check it out.  They only do 1 event per day so be sure to get your reservation in early.  We will be shooting a venue profile video and have it up on our YouTube channel later on this season.

Weekend DJ Entertainment Recap: Nightclub, Weddings, & Bat Mitzvah

Whew! What a weekend. We are just now recouping from a phenomenal weekend where we had 12 events across Florida and New York. Here’s a little journey through our DJ Entertainment life in pictures.

On Thursday, DJ Brian B kicked off the weekend at McGuire’s Irish Pub of Destin in Destin, FL. It’s Destin’s best Ladies Night and DJ Brian B did not disappoint. He was rocking it along with the band, Grape Drink. It was packed! If this is any indication of what the summer is going to be like, we’re in for a good one. We’re there EVERY Thursday from 10PM – 2AM with a rotation of our DJs and there’s no cover! It even prompted this amazing text from management to Brian B.
