Destin Beach House Wedding | Rafael & Jenni

Can you have a Destin Beach House wedding with 200 guests? Jenni and Rafael’s wedding proved that you absolutely can. Being locals, they had the advantage of scoping out of the site and deciding to use two rental houses that were next door to each other. This allowed them to create different “venues” for different portions of the wedding. The day started off perfect. There was not a single cloud in the sky and the October temperature was nice and cool with very little humidity. The beach ceremony set-up looked amazing.

Irving Gil, our only bilingual DJ/MC on staff, made all the announcements in both Spanish and English due to the blended ethnic cultures being represented. Due to the guest size, we brought in one of our other headliner DJs/MCs, Jae Richie, to assist Irving. Being a former semi-professional dancer, Jae taught some of the guests how to dance to salsa, bachata and merengue so everyone felt included. Everyone had a great time. This was the perfect staff pairing to bring this wedding to the next level.

Reception Formality Music

    • Grand Entrance (Bridal Party): “Beautiful Day” by U2
    • Grand Entrance (Bride and Groom): “Happy” by Pharrell
    • First Dance: “At Last” by Etta James
    • Mother/Son Dance: “In My Life” by The Beatles

Some notable songs of the night are: Treasure by Bruno Mars, Vivir Mi Vida by Marc Anthony, and Kulikitaka by Toño Rosario. These songs made everyone go crazy. People were dancing the entire night; from before dinner started till we had to stop at 10PM. We love Latin crowds because the music makes everyone want to get out of their seat. We wish Jenni and Rafael a happy and blessed life!

Sandestin Bayview Room: What an Awesome Venue!

I refer to it as one of our second homes – the Sandestin Bayview Room and Terrace is one of the most modular wedding venues on the Emerald Coast and we seem to have an event here just about every weekend. The flexibility that the space offers came in handy this weekend. If you haven’t checked out our venue tours at this property, it may be worth a look. We have Part 1 and Part 2. Hurricane Hermine was looming but never seriously threatened our event. The humidity, however, was intense and with rain slated for later in the evening, Courtney made the final call to move the reception indoors. We still had the ceremony outside and the cocktails were an indoor/outdoor combo. In the Bayview room, we had the entire room set for dancing. The dinner was held in the lobby entry way which worked perfectly for the guest count on hand..

Destination Weddings in Sandestin Florida. What more could a Wedding DJ want?

This crowd may qualify as one of my best of the year. They were ready to dance and had the entire room (minus the cupcakes) allotted for just that. With zero formalities after dinner (no cake cut, bouquet or garter), we got into the dancing very quickly. Being from Kentucky and a large contingent from St. Louis, Courtney and Chris brought two great destination crowds together. Folks from those parts of the country love to have a good time and are really nice people to boot. 90s and 2000s pop, hip hop and R&B went over really well and, of course, with so many being from St. Louis, there were more than a few Nelly tracks played. I even get a chance to show them The Wobble.

The floor was so packed that we went an extra 30 minutes of overtime. Best wishes to Courtney and Chris! Thanks for including us.
