Charles Egstad
Charles is one of B-Boy Productions’ rising stars. He’s been influenced by all kinds of music throughout his life and has been a DJ with B-Boy Productions since 2012. This past year was Charles’ most successful year as a DJ and this year looks even better! He’s one of our resident nightlife DJs and is our primary High School dance DJ. This is just the beginning for this 20-something. As he puts it, “I really enjoy working for B-Boy and just DJ’ing in general. I’ve worked hard and am still trying to be the best DJ I can be. It’s seriously something I love doing.”
Nickname? Though my name is Charles, I have multiple nicknames; “Che Che” being one of the most popular ones amongst my peers.
Morning Person or Night Owl? I’m definitely a night owl. Whether it’s up late on a Netflix binge or just seeking new tracks, you can almost always find me doing something at 2AM.
Social Media Platform of Choice? I’d say Instagram is the social media of choice for me. I just love all different kinds of photos – it could be art, seeing what’s going on in my friends’ lives, or checking out more from my favorite musicians or celebrities. Instagram has something for everyone.
Band or Artists Charles is Diggin’ Right Now? I’m really into GRiZ, Chance The Rapper and Anderson.Paak.
Charles’ Go-To Party Tracks? Throwback 90s anthems and funky jams.

“Wow! Where do I even start? I had the most incredible experience with B-Boy Production and Charles in particular. I worked with Brian in the beginning to book everything. He was very accommodating and made sure all my questions were answered. After he introduced me to Charles, our DJ, we communicated through email and text. I wanted to make sure Charles knew how our set-up was since we were getting married on the beach and had our reception back at the house. He made a point to stop by a couple days before and look at everything with us. Charles was willing to work with us and helped us along the way. I was very nervous booking and not meeting anyone in person, but I will reassure you that it was worth it having him at my wedding! We had a small party, 50 people, but he partied with us like we had hundreds of people. He kept the party going the entire night! It was worth every penny that we spent! “We used B-boy for our ceremony music, guitarist at cocktail hour (Aaron Paul Bostic) and DJ during reception (Shawn & Charles). My fiance and I watched the bio videos of each DJ separately and both picked Shawn as our first choice. We had our initial planning call about 5 weeks out from the wedding and he had great questions for us to think about and great suggestions for us. We didn’t want someone to be in our guests faces and doing line dances, we just wanted GREAT music, he got it. Then about 2 weeks before the wedding Shawn called to tell us he broke his right hand. I was about to panic but then he told me he would still be at our wedding to be the MC and be in charge but would bring Charles along to actually play the music. Crisis averted. The day of the wedding was a blur as it is for any bride (anyone saying something different is lying)…but I heard from so many friends that our wedding will be hard to top. Everyone had so much fun dancing one of my bridesmaid’s husbands even ripped his pants while dancing. Bottom line, B-Boy did an excellent job, and didn’t let me down even during an injury and I so appreciate that!”

“Event was an JROTC ball. The venue was challenging (local community center) and was primarily student produced, which lead to several logistical challenges. My other concern was the musical content. The attendees are high school students some 13-18. In previous years DJs had simply played what ever was requested which lead to some parental/school complaints. B-Boy has a great selection of popular songs with school friendly edits. The DJ, Charles, was able to flex with the issues and provided a great evening of entertainment.”
