Palate & Palette | #BBOYGIVESBACK

Our #bboygivesback has kicked off with a flurry in 2017 and shows no signs of slowing down. We had an opportunity to once again work with Shelter House – this time for their Palate and Palette Event which took place at the Tack Room at Arnett’s Gulfside Ranch in Santa Rosa Beach. It included a five course dinner along with a live painting during the event. The musical soundtrack for the evening was live mixed by our own DJ Charles.

The featured chefs were Nikhil Abuvala of Roux 30A, Tim Creehan of Cuvee 30A and Destin Ice Market 30A, John Engle of The Gulf Okaloosa Island, Jack McGuckin of Bijoux and Dan Pettis of Fuel Restaurant and One20: A Modern Bistro. Each of them contributed one course to the meal. Krutz Family Cellars of Sonoma County, California paired each course with wines.

The featured artist, Jon Moody, is based out of New Orleans and his work has been seen on the hit television show “Empire” as well as recognized by the White House. He created a piece of art during the dinner which then was auctioned off following the dinner by Chris Camp of Luxury Estates Auction Company. The winning bid was for $4,500. This inaugural signature event brought in just short of $18,000.

Musically, DJ Charles stuck with an urban chic city vibe. The playlist included songs like “Cherry Wine” by Nas & Amy Winehouse and selections from a few different albums: “Bright Moments” from Flamingosis and “Chasing The Golden Hour” from GRiZ. DJ Charles commented, “This wasn’t a dancing event but the music was crucial to its success. I went with a very groovy cocktail music style to start and would switch things up from course to course to keep the vibe fun, upbeat, and people wondering what was coming next.”

Giving Back Initiative | Fun at Shelter House’s Brunch and Bowl

As part of B-Boy Productions’ #bboygivesback initiative, we are partnering with Shelter House, a domestic and sexual violence center, for many events in 2017. Our first Giving Back Initiative event of the year with them was their inaugural “Brunch and Bowl” event held this past January. This particular event raised more than $6,000. DJ Shawn Frady spun music for this event as those who attended enjoyed a fabulous brunch, unlimited bowling, a silent auction and of course, amazing music! It was held at Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl and Grill located at the Destin Commons in Destin, FL.

The bowling was a fun-filled competition featuring some of law enforcement’s finest from the Walton County Sheriff’s Office and the OCSO Sheriff’s office as well as Century 21 Blue Marlin, ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals, Paul Hughes Family Foundation, Wine and Wenches, Vieno Investments Agency (VI-A), Wesley McGrail & Wesley and RLI.

DJ for the event and General Manager of B-Boy Florida’s Division, Shawn Frady, commented, “A hearty brunch, bowling, music and raising money for a fantastic non-profit organization. I’d say that’s a great way to spend a Saturday morning.”

B-Boy Productions Launches Aggressive Non-Profit Initiative: #BBOYGIVESBACK

2017 marks a definitive marker in history for B-Boy Productions, Inc. For years, B-Boy has supported and been a part of non-profit projects that came across our desk. It’s been a fabric of B-Boy’s DNA. However, for the last year or so, a concerted effort has been made to do more and drill down to find “perfect fits”. This year begins an aggressive non-profit push with the #bboygivesback initiative. Each of our DJ/MC staff has committed to doing a minimum of 1-2 events per year. With over 12 headliner entertainers, that’s almost 2 dozen events.

#BBOYGIVESBACK

Brian Buonassissi, owner of B-Boy Productions, Inc., says, “One of the calling cards of our staff has been a desire to bless others with the talents we’ve been given. The #bboygiveback initiative is laser-focused to partner with non-profits that are a perfect fit with what we can bring to the table. In many cases, a lot of the benefiting organizations have been ones we’ve helped for years under the radar. We want to do a better job of promoting the non-profits we work with so others can hear about their mission and potentially get involved with us to make a difference”.

Some of the 2017 projects chosen:
*Shelter House: Brunch and Bowl (January 21st)
*The Birthday Party Project (February 16th & 21st)
*UWF: Dance Marathon (February 18th)
*Boy & Cub Scouts: Pinewood Auto Show (March 4th)
*Emerald Coast Autism Center: The Hole In One Event (March 10th)
*Shelter House: Purses With A Purpose (March 21st & 22nd)
*American Cancer Society: Bark For Life (April 1st)
*American Cancer Society: Relay For Life (April 28th & May 5th)
*Emerald Coast Foundation: Father-Daughter Princess Ball (May 19th)

“We’ve always wanted to lead in our industry – not just with excellence in paid events but also in a philanthropic capacity. Our desire is to do what we can to benefit these amazing organizations”, Buonassissi said.

If you have a non-profit project in mind that would benefit from our services or you would want to be a part of one we’re connected with, be sure to message us and we’ll get in contact with you as soon as we can. #bboygivesback
