Embassy Suites Miramar Beach Wedding Venue

We’ve got a Miramar Beach Wedding Venue option for you – the Embassy Suites!

Miramar Beach Wedding Venue

In our opinion, this is one of the area’s more underrated wedding properties. A few years ago, they did an amazing updated renovation to the property. However, because it’s a bit off (literally a block away) of highway 98, it’s easy to miss. Their event staff (Jillian and and Brandee) are easy going and committed to tailor your event to the vision you have in mind.

Here are some of the highlights

BEACH CEREMONIES…Interested in a beach ceremony? No problem! They have a gate entrance to the right of the property – easy to access and one of the best gulf views bar none. More importantly, it feels like a private beach just for you and your guests!

THE ATRIUM…We believe this is the crown jewel of the property. Not only can this location act as a rain back-up for your beach ceremony (or as a non-beach ceremony space), but it could be a perfect transition spot for a cocktail hour to give it a “3 location feel” all in one venue. The modern aesthetic is a refreshing take at a hotel property.

THE BALLROOM IS INTIMATE…One of the biggest errors couples can make is to pick a venue where the space is too large for the attendance number. This happens more than you know. The beauty of this property is that the ballroom can be adjusted with airwalls to fit your guest count in an intimate setting. Whether you guest count is 30 or 400, the Embassy Suites has you covered.

ON-SITE ROOMS TO GET READY…Need a spot to get ready or freshen up after the ceremony that is not your hotel room? The Embassy Suites has thought of that as well. They have 2 conference rooms that are outfitted with TVs (hello college football fans) so the wedding party can relax up to minutes before the formalities begin!

These are just some of the many features of the Embassy Suites Miramar Beach. Before deciding on your venue location, be sure to give this a look over. We know you will be pleasantly surprised! See our venue tour video below.

Sandestin Wedding Venues | Bayview Room and Terrace Venue Tour

We’ve been working at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort since we opened up our doors in the panhandle back in 2006. In fact, the very first Sandestin wedding venue we performed in on property was at the Bayview Room and Terrace. It has held a special space in our heart ever since. Over the last month few months, they did a major renovation to the space. We are giving you a little sneak peak venue tour with those updates. I think you’ll be excited to see this refresh.

Of all the Sandestin Wedding Venues, this a fantastic option if you want a non-beachy location. That view of the Choctawhatchee Bay is unlike any other. It makes a perfect ceremony backdrop or cocktail hour location.

Sandestin Wedding Venues

The ceremony locations are really endless. They do have beach options, lawn options and many more on Sandestin’s property if the Bay view isn’t your ideal look. As for the room itself, you can comfortably fit about 75-85 people. Have a larger attendance count? No problem! The lobby area gives you the ability to put up a temporary draped wall to use as your dining location, thereby saving the main room for dancing, formalities and a photo booth. Another bonus of being indoors for the reception is that you can go beyond the 10PM noise ordinance that most outdoors properties have to abide by within the area. In the summer, when it takes longer for the sun to go down, this is a huge advantage.

Bayview Room and Terrace

We do recommend you and your guests stay on property at one of the condos or hotels. Getting in and out of Sandestin during season can take time with traffic (this goes for any venue on the Emerald Coast). By staying inside the Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort, you can easily get around the resort or you can take the free tram to multiple drop-off points.

Another bonus of this property is the close proximity to Baytowne Wharf. This gives you many rehearsal dinner and after-party options.
Be sure to reach out to them today for more information as this venue books out quickly.

WaterVue at Brooks Street Wedding | Venue Tour

Ever consider a WaterVue at Brooks Street wedding? If not, you should! We’ve done some of the leg work for you. Recently, we had a chance to stop by and take some video of the property and then worked a wedding there the following weekend. Enjoy our quick venue tour.

This Fort Walton Beach venue is one of our favorites. It is very versatile for ceremonies and receptions. You have indoor and outdoor options.

In a state where rain is always hit and miss, this is a stress-reliever in and of itself. You have an instant back-up plan! Additionally, the multiple spaces within the venue can give your event different looks between ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. We’ve done it just about every way imaginable including a recent trend of ceremony inside, cocktail hour outside (which we do a flip inside) and then reception back inside. The venue is rare in that it can feel full with 80 guests or you can expand it to accommodate up to 250-300 people.

The view of the gulf is unobstructed and crystal clear 90% of the time. Though they do have a preferred vendor list, you can bring in just about any vendor you want, which makes working with all budget sizes ideal. Indoor tables and chairs are available at the venue. They do require you to bring in a coordinator, which is a good idea anyway to ensure that things are running smoothly.

For a non-beachy wedding, a WaterVue at Brooks Street wedding is worth looking at. The owner, Mary, is one of those rare folks who treats you as family from the moment she meets you. She is very accommodating and looks to make your wedding day as stress-free and special as she can. From a vendor perspective, she sets us all up to make each event successful! You can’t put a price on that.

Wedding DJ, Sheawna at Soundside at Hurlburt AFB

Wedding DJ, Sheawna, kicked off her 2018 wedding event schedule with a military wedding at Soundside at Hurlburt Air Force Base. One of our hallmarks is being early and soundchecking all gear and special formality dance tracks. So when our Florida GM, Shawn Frady, texted Sheawna at 1PM to find out what time she was planning on being there for a 4PM start time, she sent him this picture of her and the DJ tech, JiJuan, already there setting up. Man, do we have a great team.

The ceremony was held outside of the venue under a tree with a beautiful view of the sound. The bride was British and she had guests fly in from Europe to attend their celebration. She wore a beaded gown and the bridesmaids were in maroon dresses. The groom was local to the area and many of the guests were from the local church he attends.

The accent colors inside the reception room were maroon, rose gold and pearl. This was a dry wedding, which is a rarity for us. What I love about our team of DJs is that they are trained for all sorts of situations (including a dry wedding). It didn’t take long before Sheawna had them on the floor and a good party was had by all. As you can imagine, the songs of the night were interactive line dances – “The Wobble” and “Cha Cha Slide”.

Reception Formality Music

  • First Dance: “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran
  • Father/Daughter Dance: “Daddy” by Abby Anderson
  • Mother/Son Dance: “Simple Man” by Shinedown

The Henderson Wedding in Destin FL With DJ Brian B

A throwback to this Henderson Wedding in Destin FL from this past Fall (the professional images recently came in). This was my (Brian B) 2nd wedding of 3 this particular weekend so I was definitely in my wedding groove. To be honest, when the bride-to-be called us inquiring on our services, she was wanting a band but felt for the space, a DJ was a better fit. I could hear the disappointment in her voice but I told her not to worry. I would make sure it was all good from the music side. The Henderson in Destin, FL provided the perfect backdrop for a fantastic celebration of love. It wasn’t quite October yet so the humidity was still pretty intense. But you know you have a great crowd when everything is done outside and they partied anyway. That was the case with Kindra and Jason’s Henderson Wedding in Destin FL.

Baker: The Cake Destination
Designer/Florist: Bella Flora 30A

The ceremony was held on the Western Lawn and it was a stunning setting with the backdrop of the Henderson Park Inn on one side and the gulf on the other.

They moved to the Eastern Lawn for cocktail hours where we brought out all of our Lawn Games. They were a total hit!

Reception Formality Music

  • First Dance: “Feet Don’t Touch The Ground” by Stony Larue
  • Father/Daughter Dance: “Forever Young” by Rod Stewart
  • Mother/Son Dance: “The Baby” by Blake Shelton

Kindra and Jason gave me total autonomy with the dinner music. When I get that type of leeway, it’s game on to see who how quickly I can get them on to the dance floor. Let’s just say it was hard to tell where dinner began and when we transitioned to open dancing. We had a pretty packed floor the entire night.

Thanks for allowing me to share such a special celebration with you Kindra and Jason!

Palazzo Del Sol Beach House | Destin Wedding

Niki and Martin’s Destin wedding was by far my (DJ Josh Weck) favorite wedding to DJ this year! It didn’t hurt that it took place at my favorite beach house venue, the Palazzo Del Sol, located in Destin, FL. The wedding ceremony was held underneath a tent in the backyard, which was fortunate because it was a rather windy day. The musical accompaniment was a violin, played by a friend of the family, Carol.

Once the ceremony ended, the guests transitioned to the front of Palazzo del Sol for lawn games and drinks. The staff hastily flipped what was the ceremony space and turned it into where the reception was held.

My favorite part of a wedding reception is the toasts. This particular event, the groom bestowed the honor of best man on his father, which could leave him in a precarious position considering his father’s undoubted treasure trove of embarrassing stories. But, as most toasts end up, it was very heartfelt, very touching, and full of love: the recipe that makes up a great toast. Now that those formalities were taken care of, it was time to dance!

    • Mother/Son Dance: “Here Comes The Sun” by The Beatles
    • Cake Cut: “Can’t Help Myself” by The Four Tops

    • Garter Removal/Toss: “Hot in Herre” by Nelly
    • Last Dance: “The Time of My Life” (Dance Remix) by Bill Medley & Jen Warnes

Niki had very specific songs for both of the dance sets. Usually, I get a bit nervous when the night is overly formatted. But, the songs she picked were GREAT selections and the guests loved them as well. The night was truly Niki and Martin’s. The dance floor filled immediately for the Anniversary Countdown and stayed packed the entire time there was open dancing. Here’s to the Geil’s! May they enjoy many happy years together.

High School Prom DJ, DJ Charles: Crestview High 2017

It’s crazy to think but we’ve been working with Crestview High School for 9 years now.  When B-Boy Productions, Inc decided to add High School Prom DJ services to our repertoire in the Florida Panhandle, they were our very first one. This year’s Prom 2017 dance was held at the Destin Community Center. We had our resident school dance DJ, Charles, there to rock it out while our sister company, B-Boy Rentals and Event Design, handled the lighting. The dance floor immediately filled once “Passionfruit” was played early on. One other big notable track of the night was “Peek A Boo” by Lil Yachty. For the complete playlist, see below.

Baker FL Wedding DJ Brian B | Chelsea and Jesse

When you think of a wedding on the Emerald Coast, a Baker FL wedding probably isn’t one of the first things that comes to mind. But it should. I was honored to be the Baker FL Wedding DJ of choice at Camp Retreat, an amazing venue that features a barn which can fit upwards of 200-300 people. This came in useful since we had over 250+ folks in attendance. Chelsea is the cousin of one of our sales associates and wedding directors, Christen Cowgill, which made the event all the more fun and personal.

Florida Barn Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony location was a small walking jaunt from the barn and overlooked a lake that created a stunning look!  They handmade the arbor and brought in old school pews to complete the setting. The weather was perfect — not too hot, not too cold and more importantly VERY LOW humidity. Graeme officiated and knocked it out of the park. Musically, the ceremony choices were eclectic. We used some Bethel Instrumental selections from the album “Without Words” for prelude and family/wedding party entrances. The bride came down the aisle to “A Thousand Years” (Piano Guys version) and the wedding party exited to “Can’t Stop The Feeling” by Justin Timberlake. How about these doors?

Wedding Ceremony Barn Door Decor

Chelsea (the bride) and I had some great discussions about her and Jesse’s (the groom) vision for their reception. They literally gave me the reigns with one directive, “play amazing music”. That was it.  While I am honored with their trust, it always is a bit daunting at a wedding because of the diverse cultures and age ranges not to mention other “day of” factors – family dynamics, weather, etc. From the time the reception started, it was on! The crowd was seriously ready to throw down. I took one look at Chelsea jamming out during dinner and I knew I was on the right track.

Barn Wedding DJ

Once the dancing started, tit packed out pretty quickly!  I could’ve played the Hokey Pokey and it would’ve gone off (disclaimer: I would never play that song – ha). It was all over the map musically (in one stretch I went from Led Zeplin to Luke Bryan to Mo Money Mo Problems) and the crowd ate every song up.

Wedding at Bud and Alley’s, Seaside with DJ Dan Davis

Brenna and Alexis’ (his name is French, pronounced Alex-see) wedding at Bud and Alley’s, Seaside, FL was an absolute blast and couldn’t have happened on a more perfect Spring day! With both families coming from Alabama and France, there was an awesome mix of cultural heritage and style.

One of the most memorable moments was when one of Brenna’s friends, Mary-Claire, gave a special acapella vocal performance.  She is a trained opera singer which was a wonderful touch to the already elegant evening. After the sun went down, the party turned up, and the crowd danced until the witching hour!

Reception Formality Music

    • Grand Entrance (Wedding Party): “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars
    • Grand Entrance (Bride/Groom): “The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson
    • First Dance: “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne
    • Father/Daughter Dance: “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack
    • Mother/Son Dance: “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong
    • Cake Cut: “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz
    • Bouquet Toss: “Somebody To Love” by Queen
    • Last Dance: “Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey

Depending on how my creative planning appointment goes with my clients, I may suggest a somewhat unique ending to the night instead of just playing a last dance song. Brenna and Alexis loved it when I pitched them the idea. Here’s how it went down: I put the bride and groom at the center of the dance floor and had the wedding party, family and friends form a circle around them. I always look to include guests that have not been on the floor all night, assuring them I’m not going to make them do anything embarrassing or cheesy. I told everyone to look to their left, then look to their right, and explained that today there are two families becoming one (which is why we were in one circle with the bride and groom in the center). I asked everybody to link hands, arms, shoulders, whatever. I then asked them two questions: If you could say anything to the bride and groom right now, would you tell them that you love them? (Yes!) Would you tell them you are excited for them to take the first steps of the rest of their lives together? (Yes!) By that time, I had already maneuvered myself back behind the decks and said, “Well, if those answers are true, I am willing to bet that there is one other thing you’d like to tell them,” and I immediately hit play on “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey. The crowd always goes nuts when that happens (and this crowd was no exception). I asked them to sing along. When the end of the song came up, right before “Don’t stop believing / hold on to that feeling,” I prompted everyone that I wanted a big finale, that I wanted everyone to hear them back home where they came from singing, then prompted a cheer for the bride and groom at the end.  For this crowd, it was a perfect way to end the night.

Emerald Coast Top Salon 2017 Fashion Event | #bboygivesback

We’ve been involved with the Emerald Coast Top Salon event since its inception back in 2011. I (Brian B), personally, feel honored to have DJ’d 3 out of the 6 events (including the last 2 consecutive years). It’s a unique event in that they select a handful of local salons to participate and “battle” one another. Each salon has a charity they are supporting. The Emerald Coast Top Salon 2017 battle is fairly simple: Take one person (of the salon’s choosing) and do a complete make-up (hair, make-up, clothing, etc.). The winning salon’s charity is awarded a substantial cash donation.

The 2017 event was held at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa in the Emerald Ballroom on April 7, 2017. Over 600 people were in attendance to see 14 salons battle it out and see their models walk the runway. Pure and Couture Salon won “Fan Favorite”, Southern Roots Salon and Spa won the “Judges’ Pick award” and the grand prize, the 2017 “Top Salon” was Avantgarde Salon Spa. This was Avantgarde 4th time winning the event and 2nd consecutive win. Their benefiting charity was Others of Destin, Inc.

Emerald Coast Top Salon 2017

Runway tracks were as follows:

  • Volume One Salon: “Get Me Bodied” by Beyonce
  • Traveling Chic: “Confident” by Demi Lovato
  • The Posh Daisy Salon Spa: “Live Like You Are Loved” by Hawk Nelson
  • The Kat House Hair Studio: “Pound The Alarm” by Nicki Minaj
  • The Cutting Room Salon and Spa: “Vivrant Thing” by Q-Tip
  • Spa Lala Day Spa and Salon: “Layla” by Eric Clapton
  • Southern Roots Salon and Spa: “American Woman” by The Guess Who
  • Serenity by the Sea Spa: “Me Too” by Meghan Trainor
  • Pure & Couture Salon: “Something Just Like This (Vanity X Kevin Peels Remix)” – The Chainsmokers & Coldplay
  • project:STYLE salon: “U Got the Look” by Prince
  • Lux Solis Aveda Salon & Spa: “Girl On Fire” by Alicia Keys
  • La Renaissance Salon: “Can’t Stop The Feeling” by Justin Timberlake
  • Avantgarde Salon Spa: “24K” by Bruno Mars
  • As You Like It Salon and Spa: “Finally (Roman Hunter Remix)” by CeCe Peniston

DJ Brian B spun the pre-event music setting a high-energy tone with an open format.  There were 4 intermissions between the 14 salons that became “booty breaks” with attendees jumping on to the catwalk and dancing it up.

This was by far the most successful showcase in this event’s six year history.  Looking forward to including this event in our 2018 #bboygivesback plans.
