30A DJ Josh Woeckener Promoted to Associate DJ

Our last promotion this winter out of our Florida Emerald Coast office is Josh Woeckener. He will be our go to 30a DJ and is being promoted to an Associate level DJ/MC. We love Josh’s story. He was actually a client of B-Boy when he and his wife, Rhoda, got married in 2013. Since then, he has joined our team as a DJ/MC and has blossomed over the past few years.

DJ Josh WoeckenerB-Boy Productions’ Florida General Manager, Shawn Frady, commented, “Having been seemingly grafted into the B-Boy fold, Josh has been one of the fastest rising talents in the area, leaving little doubt that this DJ/MC understands customer service. If you are looking for a polished experience coupled with the ability to ‘Get Down On It’ look no further.”

While we cover the entire panhandle area of Florida, Josh will be primarily based in our 30a locations – Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, and WaterColor. In other words, he is going to be our go to 30A DJ. That stretch of area demands excellence and we have full confidence that Josh will more than deliver.

For more information on Josh, be sure to read his bio here.

If you’re looking for an event DJ on 30A, Josh is your guy. To book Josh, be sure to message us and assuming he’s available, we’ll be glad to add him to your event.

Charles Egstad Promoted To Associate DJ in Destin FL

The 2017 promotions are aplenty at B-Boy Productions, Inc.  In our Destin Florida division, DJ Charles Egstad has been promoted to the Associate level headliner DJ/MC.

DJ in Destin, DJ CharlesOver the past 5 years with B-Boy Productions, Charles has gone from A/V technician (running our ceremony kit, lighting fixtures and other A/V gear) to strictly DJ’ing with a headlining MC to most recently being a Jr. Associate headliner DJ/MC.  Clients have taken notice and are requesting Charles specifically on a very regular basis.  Last year, he took another step in his progression as he was selected to be our nightlife resident DJ at McGuire’s Irish Pub of Destin where he played for the area’s largest Ladies Night every Thursday in season. In addition to nightlife and weddings, Charles also became our “go to” high school dance DJ/MC. As a result, he’s become a DJ in Destin who is in very high demand.

According to General Manager Shawn Frady, “Charles has been a local to the Emerald Coast for nearly half of his life and although he hasn’t had much life to live as of yet, this up and coming DJ/MC knows how to throw a party! He brings an awesome blend of experience, youth and passion to any event. This promotion is well-deserved and I have no doubt that we’re hitting just the tip of the iceberg of what his capabilities are.”

Eden Gardens Wedding | Keith and Kimberly

What’s not to love about an Eden Gardens Wedding?

If you’re looking for a place in the Florida panhandle that is magical, an Eden Gardens wedding is as close as you’re going to get to it. There are a big couple “ifs”…

  • If it’s not in the summer where there is no air to let the humidity out
  • If it’s not in the winter where you and your guests freeze to death
  • if it’s not raining (which happens 90% of the time in Florida) and you’re walking through a swamp

While the weather forecast changed by the day for Keith and Kimberly (initial reports earlier in the week showed a complete downpour), by the time the wedding day hit, it was perfect. Towards the evening, the temperature dipped slightly but not enough to cause any issues. Wedding attendance for a destination wedding in the panhandle typically averages about 100-125 people. For this one, we had upwards of 180. The wedding venue, however, has plenty of acreage to fit just about any guest count.

All about the details

Kimberly contacted us with less than 2 months before her wedding day. With us (B-Boy Productions) and two of our three sister companies, B-Boy Rentals and Event Design (coordination) and B-Boy Photo Booths, we jumped right into it and helped make this wedding come to life. Kimberly is very much like myself (Brian) in being OCD and into the details. We immediately clicked and worked extremely close between our two insane travel schedules (Kimberly lives in Alaska and commutes weekly all over the country and myself, well, if you know me, then you know that airports are my second home as I perform events across the country). For this event, I put on my coordinator hat (which I love to do) and we made some magic happen.

Destin Beach House Wedding | Rafael & Jenni

Can you have a Destin Beach House wedding with 200 guests? Jenni and Rafael’s wedding proved that you absolutely can. Being locals, they had the advantage of scoping out of the site and deciding to use two rental houses that were next door to each other. This allowed them to create different “venues” for different portions of the wedding. The day started off perfect. There was not a single cloud in the sky and the October temperature was nice and cool with very little humidity. The beach ceremony set-up looked amazing.

Irving Gil, our only bilingual DJ/MC on staff, made all the announcements in both Spanish and English due to the blended ethnic cultures being represented. Due to the guest size, we brought in one of our other headliner DJs/MCs, Jae Richie, to assist Irving. Being a former semi-professional dancer, Jae taught some of the guests how to dance to salsa, bachata and merengue so everyone felt included. Everyone had a great time. This was the perfect staff pairing to bring this wedding to the next level.

Some notable songs of the night are: Treasure by Bruno Mars, Vivir Mi Vida by Marc Anthony, and Kulikitaka by Toño Rosario. These songs made everyone go crazy. People were dancing the entire night; from before dinner started till we had to stop at 10PM. We love Latin crowds because the music makes everyone want to get out of their seat. We wish Jenni and Rafael a happy and blessed life!

Fonville Press Wedding | Alex & Courtney

Elegant and Casual: A Fonville Press Wedding

If I had to describe a Fonville Press wedding reception, I’d say it’s like throwing an epic party in the nicest backyard you’ve ever seen or been to. There’s a very relaxed yet elegant feel to it. For Alex and Courtney, they articulated their wedding vision as “formal with a casual atmosphere”. This place nails it on all counts.

Their ceremony took place on the beach. Country music was the genre of choice for the prelude to the processional. The new made-for-wedding song “I Get to Love You” by Ruelle ushered in Alex and the Bridal Party. Courtney’s processional march was punctuated by the classic “Canon in D”. The wind calmed as Courtney’s aunt, Sister Barb, presided over the ceremony. After the First Kiss as husband and wife, they greeted their guests to “All You Need Is Love by The Beatles.

The reception was filled with a heartfelt welcome from the Father of the Bride, a taco and queso bar as part of dinner, one written and one off-the-cuff toast, and the sense that everyone was there to celebrate Alex & Courtney. An eclectic assortment of music painted the soundtrack for the night ranging from country to an island/beachy sound to alternative to Top 40 and party classics. The wide range of music ensured that no one attending felt out of place or forgotten. This was the first wedding I’ve (Josh W) done where they wanted to ensure specific slow dances were incorporated in the open dance sets. It truly won over the guests.

Rosemary Beach Wedding Venue, The Pearl on 30A | Kate & Stephan

Although The Pearl on 30A has been around for a few years, it was our first wedding on the Pool Deck Cabana since the renovation. If your dream wedding doesn’t involve a large crowd, we can’t more highly recommend this intimate, elegant, and overall unique setting at Rosemary Beach! A ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception can all be accommodated and the staff impressed us with their constant attentiveness to the event and that of the guests. DJ’ing there this past weekend was a memorable experience for all, and we hope we’ll have the pleasure of doing so again soon.

The evening was a perfect blend of classy and casual, elegant and exuberant. Kate and Stephan’s Grand Entrance drew cheers from not only their guests but also from patrons of the nearby hotel restaurant. By the end of the couple’s photo-worthy First Dance, love was thick in the air! That atmosphere never waned through the spirited Parent Dances, Cake Cutting, and an Anniversary Countdown that filled the dance floor with happy couples offering their well-wishes to the newlyweds.

DJ Josh B kicked the festivities into high gear with classic 90’s R&B dance anthem “This is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan. This was one of the many “must play” song selections provided by the bride and groom, who were very aware of their crowd’s taste — because every selection was a hit! The dance floor never emptied as DJ Josh B mixed the couple’s playlist with guest requests and kept the party going for hours straight.

  • Grand Entrance (Bride & Groom): “Marry You” by Bruno Mars

Rosemary Beach Town Hall Wedding | Jack & Alex

A Rosemary Beach Town Hall wedding is one of the most intimate weddings available on the Emerald Coast. We’ve seen it laid out in just about every type of configuration. However, for Jack And Alex, they used it a bit uniquely. They started with the cocktail hour indoors and then moved everyone outdoors for dinner. After dinner and toasts, they brought everyone back indoors for dancing.

For cocktail hour, we kept the music to standards/jazz. I rarely get those types of crowds so it was nice change! I moved locations to the lawn for the dinner where the music started mellow and then gradually grew in tempo and energy. Guests were signing along and tapping there toes throughout.

Rosemary Beach Weddings

Though this was a very intimate crowd of 60 people, they threw down when it was time to party inside. This venue makes it feel full which was ideal for this wedding. It wasn’t just the young kids partying either. I was actually able to get the father of the bride to do some “fist pumping”. Ha! With the weather nearly perfect, this was one of the prettiest weddings I’ve had all year long. Thanks Jack and Alex for having us!

Sandestin Beach Club Wedding | Reagan & Robin

There’s a little gem on the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort called the Sandestin Beach Club, and A Sandestin Beach Club Wedding is one of the best ways to tie the knot on the Emerald Coast. It’s a members only club, however, in the Fall/Winter, it can be used for weddings and private events. This is now one of our favorite spots. It has an intimate feel despite the massive property size. For Reagan and Robin’s wedding this past weekend, they had a guest count of about 100 people. The ceremony took place on the beach and the cocktail hour and reception was held on the pool deck. Like clockwork, the weather turned from Summer to Fall the day prior to their wedding so the humidity was dialed back considerably from September’s heatwave.

For this venue, it’s ideal to have two entertainers. Brian (himself a DJ) assisted Josh, allowing him to get out in the crowd for announcements and make the toasts flow a little easier instead of having to run back to the booth to add music. Once the dancing kicked off, the crowd was ready to party! Josh had them dancing to just about everything he played.

Kelly Green Wedding in Alys Beach | Alexa & Anthony

Kelly Green Wedding: Alys Beach, FL

One of Alys Beach’s more popular spots, Kelly Green is a perfect venue for guest counts of over 100 people. It complements the town of Alys Beach so well. Its well-manicured lawns and semi-hidden location make for a luxurious and private wedding space. This wedding was that and more.

The groom, Anthony (wearing a blue tux and diamond studded shoes), and the bride, Alexa, were stylish themselves and into the details of every aspect of the wedding. From monogrammed everything to the food to the music list to a theatrical and choreographed grand entrance/first dance, their imprint on the event to was very evident for all to see and made it truly “them”. Music-wise, this crowd was into just about everything. The party, really took off, however, when we delved deep into the hip hop genre.

The most memorable part of the reception took place at the Grand Exit. The groom surprised his beautiful bride with her wedding gift – a murdered out Phantom Rolls Royce. I don’t think the bar can be set much higher gentlemen. Her reaction was priceless. She was so shocked, happy and blown away all at once! It was the perfect ending to an amazing night.
